Why pursue an M.A. in English and Writing Professions at Eastern Kentucky University?

Our career-oriented Master of Arts program is designed to prepare students to enter the workforce immediately upon graduating with a two-year graduate degree. Our curriculum is unique in a number of ways:

  • courses solely devoted to the administration of writing centers and Writing Across the Disciplines programs
  • emphasis on historical, theoretical, and practical contexts for multimodal communication
  • a focus in every graduate seminar on developing students’ rhetorical and theoretical awareness of best practices for communicating in oral, written, and digital environments

Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing

Our MFA is designed to provide you with the knowlege and information in various areas of the creative writing discipline.  As the MFA in Creative Writing is considered a terminal degree in this field, when you complete this program you will be able to teach at the college level as well as develop your own writing talent.
