Chaffin Journal

Announcement: Chaffin Journal Hiatus

The Chaffin Journal is going on hiatus to move house, retool, and to settle in a new editor—but we’ll be back!

Longtime editor Robert W. Witt is stepping down from his post, and the journal’s home base is being shifted to another building, along with entire Department of English & Theatre.  We’ll also be changing to an online submission process, which takes some time to set up and unkink.

Please check back in Spring 2017 for news of The Chaffin Journal’s and a chance to submit your best work in fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction.

About The Chaffin Journal

The Chaffin Journal is a national literary magazine that is published once a year. The journal is housed at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.

The digest-sized literary magazine was started in 1998 with an endowment from a distinquished EKU alumna, Lillie D. She published 17 books, and was an advocate of women, Appalachian writers, and young writers. Ms. Chaffin died in 1993.

Daryl Halbrooks has done the journal's cover art.
